How to make a satellite fire map

I learned a lot making my fire map, from raster processing to managing a viral webpage. And the nice folks at Mapbox have given me some space on their blog to write about how I made and updated it. In a nutshell, I made heavy use of virtual raster files and automated everything process with a simple bash script.
